Jungbub-6277. Lifelong Jobs No Longer Exist for the Digital Generation (1/2)

Q. For us, the digital generation, jobs for life no longer exist. We work 6 months to 1 year for short, while 3 to 4 years at one job is considered a long time. As the market price continues to go up with no increase in salary, especially for the 20 & 30-year-olds who are living away from home, they are unable to think about saving money, purchasing a house or getting married. To ease their stress and for their personal development, they prefer working part-time jobs or temporary jobs so that they can enjoy their daily lives.

‘Freeter’, which is a Japanese word to refer to those who work part-time for a living, has been prevalent in Japan over the past decade. I, too, have a job but I am already thinking about switching jobs and am planning what I want to do.

The older generation in Japan and Korea has considered this phenomenon as an unstable and severe social problem, and my parents are worried that I haven’t made any savings so far. However, I feel comfortable with my situation and I like it this way. Is it wrong that I rather attain what I want and enjoy my life by working part-time than getting stressed from work overload and a low salary?

Please teach me so that it would be appropriate for my perseverance.

A. Yes, this matter is a huge social problem now, right? When you approach society in the right way, no one goes through such hardships. You just don’t know the rules of approach.

When you approach society in the right way, no one goes through such hardships.

The younger generation is approaching society by looking for jobs where they can earn money. In other words, you go to work for money. You say that you go to work, but you actually think about earning money. Which one should be first in your mind? The work? Or the money? (The work)

“You should go to work to work.” That is only right. But you go to work to earn money. There is not a single person in this world that is waiting out there to give you money. If you are willing to work, there are lots of jobs in the world for you.

You should go to work to work. Not to earn money.

However, instead of looking for work to do, you are looking for a place that will pay you. If you find a job in such a place, you will be given some conditions. “I will pay you, but will you do as you are told?” How absurd is this? “I will pay you, but will you do as you are told?” If you go to work for money, you will be given certain tasks that make you want to leave that place.

You are applying double standards. The younger generation is approaching society with double standards. They want to be treated respectfully while they go to work for money. Right? They want to be treated respectfully while they are only working to earn money. That kind of rule does not exist.

When you are doing what you have to do, money automatically comes to you.

If you want to be treated respectfully, you shouldn’t go to work for money. Then “how can we live without earning money?” When you are doing what you have to do, money automatically comes to you. How so? There are rules in our society; rules that have been established.

You should first think about what contribution you can make.

You should first think about what contribution you can make, instead of considering which place will pay you well. What kind of work should I do? You should examine this first, then elaborate on this idea. So, you should be looking for a place where you can work and contribute.

If you are able to learn and grow from doing this work, then you are gaining way beyond the amount of your salary.

If you find a place where you can do the work that you enjoy and one that suits you, you might face some financial difficulties. However, by doing the work you want to do, you are gaining much more. Your salary may be small, but if you are able to learn and grow from doing this work, then you are gaining way beyond the amount of your salary.

Our society is formed in such a way that the younger generation can easily approach it.

Our society is formed in such a way that the younger generation can easily approach it. Once they enter society, our society will provide them with the environment that they require; whether it is by offering them a chair that they can sit on or by giving them access to a building that has been constructed by gathering our energy. You are given all this help, yet you only think about going to work to earn money.

When you approach society in the right way, the universe will support you and you will be taken care of.

If you approach society the wrong way, you will face hardships. You will be scolded by society. When you approach society in the right way, the universe will support you as with the people around you, and you will be taken care of so that you are safe.

If you’re thinking, “Well, society has never helped me,” that is because you have not done what you were supposed to do. If you have found the right thing to do and you have an understanding of it, then acting on it requires courage. Don’t respond with “I won’t do it.” Instead, act on it if you think it is right.

Those who live the right way will never have to endure hardships. This is the law of Nature. The hardship you encounter is there to inform you that you have taken the wrong approach.

All the issues prevalent in our society exist for you to see and experience so that you can learn from it.

The problems presented in today’s society provide enormous opportunities for the younger generation. It means that there is a lot of work to do. All the issues prevalent in our society exist for you to see and experience so that you can learn from it. Shouldn’t you grow into a person capable of correcting at least one issue in our society? That is our assignment.

However, if you do not consider these issues and you only focus on earning money, there is no energy in nature that will support you.

The older generation has a responsibility to teach and lead the younger generation to think in the right way. However, since they have not been doing so, we are facing issues.

Money is given to the younger generation by our society to provide them with the environment to grow.

If we approach the world the right way, do the right work, study and learn correctly, our expenses will be much lower. Even if we were to receive 30% less of what we do now, it will be enough for our economy to flow. Money is given to the younger generation by our society to provide them with the environment to grow.

In the past, when we were growing up and were attending school, our parents used to manage our expenses. During this time, did your parents give you large sums of allowance money? No, parents only give their children small amounts; an amount only enough to use for the day. We hoped to receive a week’s worth, but our parents only gave us enough for the day. Our parents did this in order to see if we can properly manage our expenses. As you attend university, they begin to give a week’s worth of money. Our parents manage our expenses in this way.

When we grow up and enter society, we are given a monthly payment. Society is entrusting us to manage a month’s worth of pay. Whether we are aware of this or not, society has been structured in such a way.

Our society is similar to our parents in the way they raise us.

Our society is similar to our parents in the way they raise us. In other words, society is raising us. Therefore, when you look for a job, you are looking for a place – an organization – where you can be managed. Whether it be the chairman, CEO, or owner of the company, we should be considering their ideologies; how great and different it is, and the depth of it. We need to begin by examining if they hold such ideology.
