Q. Listening to master’ lesson today, I noticed a part that I struggled with and felt curious about. When you say we are improving ourselves for the future, does that mean I should study subjects in areas I find interesting or does it mean I should listen to master’s lessons and rather focus on disciplining myself at the same time?
A. There are two types of developing oneself. Building upon one’s ability can be classified into two – advancing your talent and learning true knowledge.
Studying true knowledge should be our priority.
When you lack true knowledge no matter how hard you build on your talents, you wouldn’t know how to use them properly. On the other hand, if somebody asks which one should come first – building on your talents or learning true knowledge, studying true knowledge should be our priority.
When you start to develop your talents after learning true knowledge, it will take a lot less time for you to be experienced. For something that would take a decade to learn, you can learn in a year.
Let’s look at some examples. For someone who has been listening to Jungbub for the past 3 years and having no interest in science, see if he really does not understand what’s on the science channel. He’d understand very much of it. It’d be very straightforward to comprehend. Why? Because you have been learning the right knowledge, what you see and hear would be perceived so much better in depth.

Let’s assume that some people are living in poor families and that they are growing up in harsh surrounding while others experience little difficulty and relatively grow up in a well-established place. They, both group of people, grow up in such a condition since they are obligated to do something valuable to our society. Do not complain about your current circumstance. The Grand Nature will always provide you with the best conditions possible. We just do not know what to learn from where we are at present.
I myself am one of those who were given the worst condition to live in. I became an orphan when I was four. While you guys were learning knowledge from reading books in school, I wasn’t doing any of that. I was a boy who was selling gums and newspapers on the streets. Imagine how poor conditions I must’ve been in. I had to support myself since I was very young. For what I was given, everything had been a new lesson for me. Having grown up in our society, what have I become? I became a person who teaches people around the world.
Despite all the difficulty, if you keep appreciating and taking in all what you are given, your life will be transformed and you will be enlightened.
The circumstance, which you are in, is the best for you just like the way fortune and the laws in our nature work. When you deny and complain about your condition, you won’t be disciplined as much that you wouldn’t be able to behave and achieve up to par as a grown up. Despite all the difficulty, if you keep appreciating and taking in all what you are given, your life will be transformed and you will be enlightened. This is the real education.
The best thing you can do while listening to Jungbub lessons would be learning how to use computer (Internet) in many different ways as soon as possible.

You will have drivers, cooks, and more. You don’t need a single talent, but a great speech skill. That’s actually me. (laughing)

In the future, that’s how you become popular. Who helps us understand better? That’s where people will gather. Mere manufacturing quality items wouldn’t attract advocates. It’s now time to gain energy in our society through understanding. So if a person helps you understand so well, then that person is your Savior. No matter how much power you have, if you cannot manage to help another understand, you both cannot be close to each other. How much you help others understand tells your capability.
Keep practicing to communicate with those around you.
In order to talk to the person in front of you, you need to help that person understand. This shows your level of skill. If you fail to do this despite of how knowledgeable you are, your ability becomes obsolete. Therefore, keep practicing to communicate with those around you. We are destined to meet certain people for a reason. We call them “Doban.” We attempt to see if the other Doban can listen and share what we know. If that person says they cannot really understand what we say, it’s better that we apologize. By doing so, that person opens up their mind.
Instead, if we say, “are you sure you don’t get it?” we all would start to feel frustrated and stuck. When a person you spoke to does not understand, it’s your fault. Regardless of how articulate you are, you are doing something wrong if the other person does not understand.
After listening to Jungbub lectures, you would find yourself talking naturally and fluently. It’s because our quality of thought increases.
When we speak inappropriately, we become enemies. On the contrary, speaking right can make us really close friends. This is why we as Hongikingan should learn the proper way to talk. After listening to Jungbub lectures, you would find yourself talking naturally and fluently. It’s because our quality of thought increases.
For instance, if you’ve spent the past 3 years listening to Jungbub lectures, you will be quite tempted to talk to people anywhere you go. It’s just that you become speechless in front of me like little children. When you spend 3 years of listening to Jungbub lectures, you will be speaking more like Buddha. That’s how much you get to improve your quality of thought. Thus, be more diligent listening to Jungbub lectures.
When you keep the balance of training yourself in both (developing skills & studying knowledge), you will gradually live a much-enhanced quality of life.
While listening to the lectures, if you find some talents or skills to develop, go ahead as you are gifted in those. Study those skills while you listen to lectures.
